Dr. Patrick Jennings CBE KSG

Legendary goalkeeper “Big Pat” made 119 international appearances for Northern Ireland during a 23 year career, making his international debut against Wales along with George Best in April 1964.

Pat represented Northern Ireland at the World Cups in Spain in 1982 and in Mexico in 1986 at which he played his final international game against the mighty Brazil.

Friends of Big Pat has been established to honour legendary international goalkeeper Pat Jennings through the commissioning of a statue to be located in his native Newry City in recognition of his achievements on and off the pitch and in recognition of the high esteem in which he is held in his home city, district and across the world.
